Xiaomi, a leading smartphone brand, is all set to roll out its first Redmi watch on May 13. Redmi watch will be Xiaomi sub-brand’s first-ever smartwatch. On Monday, Xiaomi announced that it would be hosting a launch event for Redmi Note 10S on May 13. Redmi Note 10S is the fourth smartphone in Redmi Note 10 series before that Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max are there.
Today Manu Kumar Jain, Global Vice President Xiaomi, and MD Xiaomi India took to Twitter to tease a new Redmi product. The teaser hints that the upcoming product will be wearable as the teaser has the #WearYourVibe hashtag.
However, Redmi has not mentioned the product’s name. Still, the teaser video has the faint image of the product at the back, which indicates that the following upcoming IoT product will be a Redmi smartwatch.
In China, the Redmi already launched its first smartwatch last November at around Rs 3,000 in three colors: Elegant Black, Ink Blue, and Ivory White. But in India, Xiaomi will disclose the price of the Redmi watch on May 13 in the event alongside the Redmi Note 10S.
The company has also made the Xiaomi event page for the smartwatch on its official website. The website teases us that the upcoming watch will have a square dial and a silicone band.
Redmi Watch Specifications
It features a 1.4-inch IPS LCD with a 320 x 320 pixels resolution. According to the Xiaomi the watch launched with 120 watch faces in China, but It may come with 200+ exciting watch faces in India. The watch will weigh 35 grams and will have water resistance up to 50 meters.
It will have 5.0 Bluetooth connectivity and NFC. The near-field communication will allow a user to make payment through their Redmi watch.
The Xiaomi event page has confirmed that Redmi watch will come with built-in GPS/GLONASS for precise navigation. The website also ensures that the watch will come with 11 sports mode including swimming, running, cycling, walking, and many more. The smartwatch will also feature sleep monitoring, heart-rate monitoring, and guided breathing.
