Today WhatsApp’s CEO, Will Cathcart, in the conversation with WABetaInfo, confirmed that WhatsApp is all set to roll out its three new features. The controversial changes in the privacy policy provoked many WhatsApp users to migrate to other messaging platforms like signal and telegram. Besides this, WhatsApp is all set to add new exciting features to its platform. These three new features include multi-device support, view once and disappearing mode.
1. Multi-device Support
Multi-device Support will be one of the most significant features this year. You can currently use WhatsApp on only one device. Undoubtedly, you can use the WhatsApp web version, but for that, your phone has to be connected to the internet, which can sometimes cause problems. The upcoming update will knock out this altogether. The new multi-device support update will allow users to have up to four active connections of their same WhatsApp account. This feature will work even if the primary device does not have an internet connection.
“It’s been a big technical challenge to get all your messages and content to sync properly across devices even when your phone battery dies, but we’ve solved this, and we’re looking forward to getting it out soon!”
Mark Zuckerberg said to WABetaInfo
Also, Will Cathcart confirmed that the multi-device support feature will available for beta users within two months, and this feature will also have support for iPad users. He also stated that WhatsApp will soon open up its beta version for more IOS users.
2. View Once
When you share photos and videos on Instagram with other users, they disappear after viewed once unless specified. But very soon, WhatsApp will be going to have this exciting feature as “View Once”, in which the photo and video will disappear after viewing by the user. This feature is different from the earlier confirmed “self-destructing image” feature. In a self-destructing image feature, the media vanishes as soon as the user leaves the chat until they can view it any number of times. While in this upcoming update it can only be view once.
3. Disappearing Mode
WhatsApp earlier rolled out its disappearing mode in November last year for all users. In disappearing mode feature enabled users to set a particular chat to get deleted automatically after seven days. Following this, the app now gets a Disappearing mode which will have a setting to set all chats to disappearing one. This feature will make your WhatsApp experience ephemeral.
