Valorant recently marked its first anniversary since launch. Yes, it’s been a complete year since the game rolled out, and it already managed to cater so much popularity. The game also witnessed its first LAN event, which was a major hit. To mark its first anniversary, Riot wishes to celebrate the occasion by introducing Valorant YR1 Events.
However, the events will be playable for a limited amount of time as stated by Riot.
The YR1 events each have their specific start and run times (most of them, today!). We’ve assembled the basics for you below, but please know we’ll keep you alerted on the start and end times on our channels, so watch closely.JEFF LANDA (Comms Associate)
The Valorant YR1 Events are as follows:
Yes, the fan-favourite Night Market is back again. The Night Market goes live again starting today, i.e. 2 June. Go and check your night market to see six random skins available to purchase, discounted and unique to you. Who knows, maybe Prime Vandal awaits you in the market? All the best for that!
GIVE BACK BUNDLE
You finally get to have your say. Vote out for the skins you wish to return in Valorant. You get to select four skins from each category. The voting period is from July 2-7. The winning skin from each category will be announced on July 16 and will be available for you to purchase.
Riot is also planning to donate a portion of your purchase for charity. Out of purchases made during June 22–July 8, 50% of the proceeds from weapon skins and 100% from accessories in the Give Back Bundle will go towards the Riot Games Social Impact Fund.
You get to have the Limited edition YR1 set of player cards during the Valorant YR1 events. The set comprises three cards commemorating Episodes 1, 2, and 3.
Here’s how to redeem the three cards:
- EP1 Player Card – Goes live on 9 June. Redeem via code [YR1] on redeem.playvalorant.com
- EP2 Player Card – Coming your way starting 14 June via a special YR1 Prime Gaming Drop
- EP3 PLayer Card – Collect as part of the first-ever YR1 Event Pass (see more below)
Each Valorant region will have the option to vote within Sprays, Gun Buddies, and titles that best reflect their local region. The voting period is from June 13-25. The top vote earners will be reviewed by the Valorant dev team. Finally, the selected items will appear in a future Community-powered Battlepass in Episode 4.
Voting will held out locally, therefore, keep view of the updates posted on your local Valorant channel.
Yes, the wwFest is back with the Valorant YR1 events. It is scheduled to happen on 25 June. Last year Valorant collaborated with Crown channel to merge gaming, pop culture, and community and put it all together in a Fest. Valorant is planning to add artists performing around the world, with an all-new headliner.
YR1 EVENT PASS
Valorant is introducing a YR1 event pass that is free for everyone. It’ll give you access to the 7 levels of exclusive YR1 items like the Episode 3 Player Card, a Gun Buddy, and more. You don’t need to spend any money on VP just grind Valorant, earn XP and unlock.
The pass will go live on 21 June.
VALORANT EPISODE 3 LIVESTREAM
The end of YR1 events will witness the beginning of the Episode 3. Join a panel of devs from the Competitive, Agents, and Premium Content teams and get to have a look at Episode 3 and year two.
You can watch the livestream on Twitch later this month on June 21 at 10AM PT.
More the reason for you to team up with your friends. Valorant is planning to give you an additional XP boost if you decide to play with your friends.
The boost depends on your party size. The larger the party, the greater the boost you get. Match up with a friend, and you get 8% extra XP. Play with a party of three, and you get a 12% XP boost. Queue with four, and you get more—that’s 16%. Call out your homies and play five-stack, earning you an additional 20% XP boost.
The boost applies to all the modes except customs. The boost will be available from June 22 to July 26 or until your local patch release.
The ranking system for how you play is old stream now. It’s time for recognizing and rewarding you for your total time spent playing VALORANT with the upcoming Account Leveling.
For more information on the same tune into the official EP3 livestream on June 21 at 10AM PT.
Valorant has decided not to comment on the new agent yet. But recently, has hinted towards the launch of the new agent soon.
