Samsung One UI 5: Supported Devices, Launch timeline, and Features

User Interface is something that gives unique software features to your smartphone. Samsung is considered one of the most popular Android brands that keep up with tradition to provide updated UI’s to its Android OS for mobile devices. Recently Samsung announced to release of the latest One UI 5 features alongside the Samsung-specific version of Android 13. Let’s read the full update on One UI 5: Supported Devices, Launch timeline and Features.

One UI 5: Features

One UI 5.0 will introduce Android 13 to Samsung phones with the rumoured new features Google will bring to the latest version, and that Samsung can opt to include on its phone. Following is what we know so far-

I. Identify text in photographs

Optical Image Recognition is the feature that will help users to copy and paste text from the images. The Samsung keyboard will also sport this feature to identify and scan texts in photographs directly to the clipboard.

II. Modified notification layout

Along with a revised visual aesthetic, notifications now have new icons. The opacity has also been slightly adjusted for the quick settings and notification shade. Additionally, it offers the choice of using customer tiles for Quick Settings, a universal photo picker UI for transferring photos to an app, and additional notification permissions for those who prefer to thoroughly regulate notifications.

III. Security and Privacy Hub

The security and privacy area on Android 13 is a Samsung-exclusive adaptation of what Google created for Pixel. It gives you simple access to everything by merging all of your accounts, passwords, security, and privacy options onto a single screen. Additionally, it will alert for abusing the app’s permissions or a security setting that is not turned on and will propose that you turn it on for greater security.

IV. Split Screen

Samsung will finally release this feature and make multitasking a little simpler and faster with the One UI 5.0 upgrade. Users can now slide with two fingers from the bottom to use two separate apps simultaneously in One UI 5’s split-screen mode.

V. The theme for all apps

Theming for all apps in One UI 5 would be one of the coolest visual enhancements. Only Google and Samsung apps can use the colours selected as part of the version’s Material You theming feature in Android 12 and One UI 4. To guarantee that, Android 13 can theme as many apps as possible, developers are being asked to submit their most recent app submissions with monochromatic app icons. It implies that third-party apps won’t change colour.
