The latest Patch 3.07 went live in Valorant on October 5 this year. With the patch came many game changes and updates. One such performance update added with the 3.07 Patch in Valorant was of Raw Input Buffer Setting. Let’s understand what Raw Input Buffer Setting is in Valorant and what all it has to offer.
What Does Enabling Raw Input Buffer Setting do in Valorant?
Raw Input Buffer is the performance update that came along with Patch 3.07 in Valorant. The setting is still in the beta version, and we may get to see changes made to it in the near future.
VALORANT has used Raw Input for devices since launch. Enabling “Raw Input Buffer” will adjust which APIs are used for processing Raw Input.

Let’s keep it simple and see what really do the latest performance update suggests. Raw Input Buffer basically adds the compatibility of high-end mice into Valorant. Earlier, Valorant did not utilize the full potential of high-end devices with a polling rate as high as 8000hz.
However, with the latest update, mice with a high polling rate of as fast as 8000hz can be used to their full potential in Valorant. Just in case if you don’t happen to know, polling rate refers to the speed at which your mouse communicates to your computer.
Thus implying, more higher versions of mice have higher polling rates and thus less input time. While playing a game having a higher polling rate than your opponent implies, your inputs will be first, giving you an edge in speed and performance.
Therefore, support of high polling rates like 8000hz in FPS games like Valorant becomes very crucial. 8000hz of polling rate basically means having only 0.125ms delay time, which is as less as it gets!
Does Raw Input Buffer Setting Increases FPS in Valorant?

Yes, sure does the latest performance update would have an impact on the overall performance of the game. We can expect a minor performance boost in terms of less delay time input for users playing with high-end mice and peripherals.
