The Playstation July 2021 State of Play updates on indies and exciting third-party games

Yes, we will soon get to see yet another Playstation State of Play Presentation. Sony has confirmed to host the PlayStation State of Play presentation on Thursday, July 8, 2021. As with Ghost of Tsushima: Director Cut, Sony has recently seen making individual announcements regarding its major titles. Therefore, the July State of Play Presentation was a bit unexpected. However, Playstation fans around the globe are looking forward to watching the Presentation.

The July State of Play event won’t bring any good news for PlayStation VR fans. The fans will get to have no updates on the upcoming PlayStation VR 2. Moreover, the hardware needed for VR 2 isn’t around the corner and is not expected to launch until 2022. Therefore, Sony has chosen to kept silent on the PlayStation VR 2.

In other news, leaks suggest Sony has acquired Bluepoint Games. It is the same studio that is well known for critically-acclaimed remakes like Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls. The Graphic related to the news was recently put up by Sony Japan. However, the graphic was then taken down shortly after. When asked, Bluepoint still insists that it is an independent company and denies any acquisition reports. However, they might be saving the news to reveal it during the State of Play.

The next PlayStation State of Play event will take place on Thursday, July 8 at 2:00 pm PT. The event will last for a total of about 30 minutes and will have updates on upcoming third-party and indie games in development for PS4 and PS5.

One of the key highlighted game of the July 2021 PlayStation State of Play Presentation will be Bethesda’s Deathloop. The presentation will feature an extended nine-minute deep dive into the game. However, fans who are waiting for Sony to give updates on some of the major titles have to bring down their hopes. We will not get to see any revelations on major Playstation exclusive titles and they will be missing in action in the upcoming State of Play Presentation.

According to Sony God of War: Ragnarok and Horizon: Forbidden West will be absent at the new PlayStation State of Play. Moreover, We already got to see the Horizon: Forbidden West at the recent State of Play event. Therefore, any updates on the game at the July State of Play event are highly unexpected.

However, Sony did say that it will have updates on God of War, Horizon, and next-gen PlayStation VR “soon,” so it’s highly likely that we won’t have to wait until next year to get more details.
