OnePlus has recently started rolling out the latest system update for its various devices which include the latest January 2022 Security Patch. The major phones in the tally that have received these updates are the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, Nord CE, Nord N-10 5G, Nord N-200 5G. It will help the system to have more stability. Let’s have a look at the updates in the above devices and how can you install it.
What’s new in the update?
The common update in all the above-mentioned devices is the January security patch upgrade. It will help the devices to be more secure from bugs and threats. Oxygen Os 12 C.44 update has come for OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. The major functionality that this update will provide is a bug fix of the notification bar to be dysfunctional in certain situations. Other features are enhanced dark mode, improved desktop icons, optimized system power consumption, smoothness of fingerprint locking, charging animation display optimization, Work-life feature availability to all users.
In the case of OnePlus Nord CE, the update is OxygenOS 18.104.22.168. It is just 115 MB in size. It enables the 5G and IMS support in units of Qatar, Hong Kong, and Ireland. OnePlus Nord N-10 5G and N-200 5G will receive the update as OxygenOS 11.0.4 and 11.0.5 respectively. The Updates to this phone will not bring any major changes to the current system. But, will surely enhance the stability of the devices, which is always an advantage of OnePlus devices.
How to install OnePlus January Security Patch?
This system update is a stage-wise update, which means all the mobiles of the above-stated series will not receive updates simultaneously. It will come for a limited number of devices to update via OTA file. You can simply check whether the file is available for your device to update by going to settings->system->system updates. Now, click “Download and install”. Just after completing the download, install it and you will be upgraded to the latest system version.
Many other devices such as the OnePlus 8 series, the OnePlus 7 series, OnePlus Nord Series (other than CE, N-10, and N-200) will also receive the January security update shortly. But, OnePlus has already declared it will stop working for updates of the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T and no further updates will be provided.
