Amazon’s New World has got its players infuriated, resulting in some long queue waiting times. It has prompted many players to review bomb the game on Steam. New World is an extremely popular game and is presently the most played game on Steam by concurrent player count. It is also the fifth-biggest game in Steam history by that same metric.
Long Queue waiting in New World
Servers in New World are facing long queue times as players try and join servers with their friends, Twitch streamers, or other popular online gaming communities.
The launch capacity for each server is at the current maximum of 2,000 players. Here, the length of some queues goes over 10,000 players, with one server’s total number of players in queue sitting just below 25,000.
Another server sits at 8,000 players in queue, but due to players not dropping its estimated wait time stretches over 116 hours.
New World gets review bomb over long queue times
As seen in numerous user accounts, Amazon’s idea to make separate launch times for each region and a global lock on character names has resulted in a number of players going for neighboring server regions to secure their character names. This resulted in overcrowding of players waiting for a long queue to join the server.
A user from Steam reviewed, “1.7 trillion-dollar company with potato servers. Refund this trash instantly.” Another user stated, “Biggest server hosting company in the world and they cap the servers at 2000.”
Amazon working to lift the long queue waiting
Amazon is working on additional servers and is trying to expand the capacity of our existing servers. Meanwhile, the devs are encouraging players in going for an alternative, as they offer free server transfers once the frantic calms. The server transfer opportunity is coming in the next two weeks.
