Minecraft Fans Are Dissatisfied With The Console Version Of The Game

Given the fact that Minecraft is one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, some fans are dissatisfied with the console version. Without a doubt, Minecraft has become one of the most popular games in history, second only to Tetris. The open-world game, developed by Mojang, is attracting millions of players every month. It shows no signs of slowing down. Despite its vastness, some fans are dissatisfied with the console version of Minecraft and have expressed their displeasure online.

User FromMilkyWay started a conversation on Reddit over the Xbox copy of Minecraft. He started the topic with the phrase “sorry for the rant” before digging into why they think this version of the powerful game is ‘such a joke’. They go on to mention a slew of issues with it. This includes slow loading times on the menu, no Quick Resume, only 1080p resolution, and marketplace failures. While it was soon pointed out that the PlayStation version offers 1080p resolution and 4K reserved for the PC. Others in the comments appeared to agree.

Debate on Java Version and Bedrock Version

One commenter speculated that with Minecraft being available on Xbox Game Pass for PC, Microsoft may feel compelled to put “pressure on Mojang,” maybe to investigate some of the concerns raised by FromMilkyWay. Some began debating the advantages of the Java version vs. the Bedrock version. Java Version is the one used in the original game, and Bedrock Version is made in C++, which includes cross-play and is said to run better overall. One of the benefits of the Java version is that it permits modifications, which is significant for PC players but maybe less so for console gamers.

Fans Talk About Ray Tracing in Minecraft

Ray tracing in Minecraft, which was added to the game in December for PC, was another topic that fans addressed. Currently, the Xbox ports do not support this capability. However, there is speculation that it will be included in Xbox Series X/S in the future.

Even though Minecraft is one of the highest-grossing games of the last ten years, some believe the console versions are inferior. Some even claim that these ports are buggy when compared to the game on PC. It’s unclear whether Microsoft/Mojang will address these flaws. It seems that it doesn’t appear to have hampered the game’s immense success.

About Minecraft

Mojang Studios developed Minecraft. Minecraft is a 3D sandbox game with no set goals to achieve, giving players a great deal of freedom in how they play the game.  However, an achievement system is referred to as “advancements” in the Java Edition and “trophies” in the PlayStation adaptations. Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PS4, PS5, PC, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
