Fortnite is an online battle royale video game. It was developed by Epic Games. The game has three modes – Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite: Save the World and Fortnite Creative. Being a battle royale game, it is very important for players to survive for a long time and win the game. For winning the game, the three main things are – good gameplay, ample amount of loot, and perfect cover while taking fights. All these three things together help you in winning any battle royale game. When we talk about taking cover, buildings do play a vital role in providing good cover to players. And this is where the twist in the tale arises; The recent update in Fortnite has brought in a new mode: ‘No-Building Mode’. What is the no-building mode? Is this no-building mode permanent? Let’s find this out before we end this article –
1. What is the no-building mode?
At the start of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2, along with Doctor Strange from MCU; building was removed as a part of the new season’s storyline. An Overshield was given in place of being able to build. This Overshield gives you an extra barrier to health. This is to balance the fact that you aren’t able to build now in-game to get away from any threat that you suddenly encounter during the game. Epic Games says that the no-building mode is also called Zero Build, which completely removes the building mechanics.

In short, Epic Games describes Zero Build as “a pure test of weapon, item, and traversal ability.”
2. Where can I find the mode in Fortnite?
You can access the Zero Build from Fortnite’s Discover menu. Click the Change button in the Fortnite lobby and you will be able to select from Solo, Duo, Trio, and Squad.
3. Is the no-building mode in Fortnite permanent?
Yes, the no-building mode or Zero mode is permanent. Epic Games confirmed that players will be able to enjoy the no-building mode or Zero Build permanently.

Initially, the no-building mode was released for a limited period of time which is up to the 29th of March, 2022. But now, it is permanently available. It is now available live in-game from the 29th of March,2022 itself. This is because of the positive response from the players.
4. Is building in Fortnite permanently gone?
If you ask me if the buildings in Fortnite are permanently gone, my answer is ‘NO’. Although the building has not returned to traditional Fortnite modes, players are hoping that it will be completely back soon, along with the Zero Build mode. You can still access the default version. If you want to play the default version with the build option on, just use the default game mode in the Fortnite launcher.
5. My opinion on Zero Build mode
I extremely loved the Zero Build mode. Though Pro Players of Fortnite do not have much difference, I feel this feature will help in renewing causal players. Not just renew players who stopped playing, but will also excite new players to install Fortnite. I feel the Zero Build mode or no-building mode is a drastic change. It will certainly alter the core gameplay of many players.

The availability of Fortnite in Default and no-building mode will definitely players happy. This is because players and fans will be happy to opt for the mode that they find interesting. This will also give a sense of freshness to the players by reducing the monotonous nature of Battle Royale Games.
As said by many, ‘Fortune always favors the Brave”; Epic Games has taken a brave decision by launching a mode like Zero Build and has now got pretty positive responses from several streamers, content creators, games, and fans of Fortnite. I loved the version and I hope you liked it too.
Happy Gaming!
