Apple has started rolling out the latest iOS 15.4 stable update for various iPhone users. The company also rolled out the iPadOS 15.4, Monterey 12.3, tvOS 15.4, watchOS 8.5, and HomePod Software 15.4 update. The iOS 15.4 update comes with some exciting new features and some bug fixes. The most awaited feature of unlocking the iPhone using Face ID even while having the mask-on is also added in this update. However, many users have been complaining about the battery drain issue soon after the iOS 15.4 update.
Apple iOS 15.4 Battery Drain Issue
With every iOS update in the Apple smartphones, users start complaining about new issues. Unfortunetly, the iOS 15.4 is no different, as many claims of severe battery drain have flooded Twitter after the OTA. A user complained that his iPhone 13 Pro Max which used to last for 48 hours approx, is now lasting for half a day. Moreover, an iPhone 11 with two hours of screen on time would lose 80 percent of its battery power in 24 hours. However, the problem isn’t universal and also certain battery issues are seen after the update. Here are some user complaints after the update.
Moreover, many users also reported this issue on the Apple Discussion page. A user took down on the page and said that the iPhone SE battery drop precipitously from 80% to 35% in less than an hour, even without using the device.

Even so, these battery drain issues are not permanent. We can expect that the battery drain issue will be fixed in the next update. Most probably iOS 15.4.1 will fix the battery drain issue in iPhones. Moreover, an article related to iPhone battery drain issue was passed out it in 2022 which reads:
Installing a new OS on an iPhone triggers a lot of stuff to go on in the background, from indexing to recalibrating the battery, and this can go on for hours or even days. Not only does this consume power, but the battery recalibration can give the impression that the battery is draining more rapidly when in fact it isn’t.
This indicates that you have to give enough time to your iPhone to recalibrate. There are chances that the battery will be back to normal soon after it is done. Moreover, battery draining after OTA also depends on how old is the phone.
