Snapchat is bringing a new AR feature for Indian users on the occasion of Independence day. This special Augmented Reality(AR) features ‘Landmarker’ to New Delhi’s India Gate. Furthermore, this feature allows you to superimpose augmented reality experiences on top of the historical monument.
Moreover, Snapchat has introduced exclusive image filters known as ‘Lenses’ to let the users in India celebrate virtually the 75th Independence Day by creating customised photos. It also created a hashtag #MeraBharatMahan to showcase different creations from users. Additionally, you can use the #MeraBharatMahan hashtag to showcasing your creation on the Spotlight feed.

While using the new Landmarker, you will get the experience of coming close to India Gate, and you’ll get notified to point the camera at the monument. Now, an AR layer will be added to embellish India Gate with the tricolor.
Landmarker was initially available in five locations around the world. However, Snapchat’s parent company expanded support for the feature to India in August 2019. Places like Gateway of India in Mumbai and the Taj Mahal in Agra were covered in the feature. Shortly after launching Landmarker in India, Snap partnered with Spotify to unveil a Diwali-themed AR lens for the Gateway of India.
