Genshin Impact 2.1 Release Date, New Arrivals, and More

MiHoYo decided to release a new version of Genshin Impact after receiving positive feedback. The current version of Genshin Impact is coming to a close, and the 2.1 patch will be here soon with even more interesting content and deals.

The new Genshin Impact 2.1 will bring New characters, quests, and events for us. Now, you all have to explore two new Inazuma islands with new quests and new characters like the anticipated Raiden Shogun. Moreover, you will love to attend Moonchase Festival in Liyue Harbor.

Genshin Impact 2.1 Release Date

The latest version, 2.1 of Genshin Impact, will release on September 1st, 2021. It will go on a maintenance break for the last five hours or less, then 2.1 will go live. Usually, you may have received a reward of 300 Primogems to compensate for the maintenance break. Also, you may receive more than 300 Primogems for some bug fixes once the update is live.

Upcoming Arrivals

Version 2.1 is coming with so many exciting offers, quests full of adventures, new characters, and so on. Let’s see the upcoming arrivals in Genshin Impact 2.1.

1. New Inazuma islands

Inazuma map of Genshin Impact is going to become larger. Furthermore, it will expand and adding 2 more areas of Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island. However, the Inazuma map will be almost complete. Only the fog-covered Tsurumi Island will remain until future updates.

I. Seirai Island

Seirai is a desolate region and has constant thunderstorms that are destroying the region. Despite the conditions, some locals still live on Seirai Island. Also, you’ll find a talking black cat in the Asase Shrine of Seirai, who is the provisional head priestess of the shrine.

II. Watatsumi Island

Watatsumi is known for its beautiful landscapes, which are surrounded by unique and colorful plantlife. There is a unique culture in Watatsumi where the people worship the giant serpent as their deity. However, the reason behind this culture is the fight with Raiden Shogun.

Furthermore, to fight against Raiden, Watatsumi’s citizens have formed a resistance movement under Sangonomiya Kokomi. You’ll find Sangonomiya Shrine at the center of Watatsumi island.

2. Moonchase Festival

New events are also joining us in Genshin Impact, but none as impactful as the Moonchase Festival. In the event, you need to go to Liyue Harbor to redecorate and put some advertisements for Moonchase Festival. Moreover, you’ll get the storyline of the Moonchase Festival along with new partners Keqing and Xiangling.

According to leaks by Project Celestia, NPCs like Madame Ping, Cloud Retainer, Xiangling’s Guoba, and the much-loved Baizhu may also be involved in the Moonchase Festival.

Apart from the Moonchase Festival storyline, you’ll get 2 more different types of gameplay.

Well, you need to search Mondstadt, Liyue, and Dragonspine to find Mystmoon Chests and Moonchase Charms in the Moonlight Seeker part.

Meanwhile, the other part of the Moonchase Festival is the Trail of Delicacies. You have to fight enemy groups whose leaders have special buffs. During this event, you have to submit cooked dishes to get buffs of their own that will help you to complete the Trail of Delicacies challenges.

3. New Characters

After getting Genshin Impact 2.1, you can summon Aloy, Raiden Shogun, Kujou Sara, and Sangonomiya Kokomi.

Furthermore, Aloy will be a free 5-star Cryo Bow user, and She comes from the Horizon Zero Dawn series. Also, she will be the first crossover character in Genshin Impact and is only available for PS4 & PS5 users.

Raiden will appear as a 5-star Electro Polearm, Sangonomiya, Hydro Catalyst user, and Kujou will appear as a 4-star Electro Bow user in Genshin Impact. However, there is no further announcement for other 4-star characters except Kujou.

4. New Weapons

There are 2 new 5-star weapons shown on the banner of version 2.1. The Engulfing Lightning polearm and the Everlasting Moonglow catalyst will both appear in the upcoming update.

Since Raiden Shogun is a polearm user, so the Engulfing Lightning weapon will be used by her. Similarly, Kokomi will wield a catalyst so that the Everlasting Moonglow will live alongside her.
