Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 Complete Details

Krafton officially announced the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021, an eSport tournament with a prize pool of Rs 1 Crore. The BGMI Series 2021 is announced following the success of the Launch Party Tournament held last week. The event was a great success, with over 5,00,000 people watching live. In addition, the stream has received over 17.5 million views. Now the BGMI Series 2021 will be an open tournament and will run for 3 months. Here are the details regarding the pool prize, format, dates, and eligibility for the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021.

Prize Pool for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Series 2021

The total prize pool for the BGMI Series is Rs. 1,00,00,000, which will be split among the top 16 teams. Furthermore, the winning team will receive Rs 50,00,000, while the runner-up will receive Rs 25,00,000. In addition, the team at the third position will recieve a sum of Rs 10,00,000, while the fourth and fifth-place teams will receive Rs 3,00,000 and Rs 2,00,000, respectively. Eligibility for the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Series Registration

  1. Only Indian Citizens can register
  2. Player must have Platinum V Tier account and should be above level 15
  3. Tablets, triggers, and emulators are not permitted.

Registrations and Format of the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Series

Registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 will start from 19 July and is open for all. The tournament will last three months and is divided into five stages: In-Game Qualifiers, Online Qualifiers, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Grand Finals.

In-Game Qualifiers

The in-game qualifiers are the first stage of the tournament and will start from 2nd August at 12:01 a.m. IST and will last on 8th August at 11:59 p.m. Each team will have 15 matches, and the top 10 of 15 will be considered for evaluation and scored accordingly. Therefore, only the top 1024 teams will qualify for the next round out of all the teams.

Online Qualifiers

All the 1024 teams qualified in the In-Game Qualifiers will progress to play the second round, i.e., Online Qualifiers. The Online Qualifiers will have three rounds.

The first round will start on 17th August and will end on 22nd August. Only half of the teams, i.e., 512, will get to move further to round 2.

The 512 squads which qualified Round 1 will compete in Round 2  from August 26 to September 5. After that, a total of 224 squads will move to round 3.

In round 3, the 256 teams will compete from September 9th to September 12th to qualify for the quarter-finals. Thus, a total of 64 teams will progress.

Quarter-Finals

The Quarter-Finals have an interesting concept of the loser’s bracket. It will commence from 16th September and will end on 26th September.

Firstly, the 64 teams will be divided into groups of four. All of them will participate in six matches, and the top four from each of the groups will progress to the semi-finals.

However, the remaining 48 teams will get another chance through the losers bracket. Now, they will be divided into groups of three, and the top two teams from each and the two teams with the most kill points will qualify for the semi-finals.

Semi-Finals

To begin with, a total of 24 teams will compete for 16 spots in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series grand finals. The semi-finals will start on 30th September and will end on 3rd October.

Grand Finals

The Grand final will be from 7th October to 10th October. The winner amongst the 16 teams will be crowned as the Champion of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 and will be awarded Rs. 50,00,000.
