Siege of Paris DLC in AC Valhalla takes us to France to deal with King Charles the Fat’s family issues. One choice you’d have to make in this is whether to hand over his boy Bernard to King Charles, during this DLC in AC Valhalla.
The events of the Siege of Paris lead us to this moment where King Charles makes a peace treaty with the Vikings staying in Paris. King Charles however then asks Eivor to hand over the boy Prince Bernard, his only heir and you’ll have Two Choices like most missions in AC Valhalla. The choices are “You may have the boy” or “I will not hand over the boy”. We will tell you what will happen when you choose either of them and what you should choose.
I. Who is the Boy: Prince Bernard
Emperor Charles the Fat’s only child was Bernard or Bernhard, who lived from approximately 870 to 891/2. He was regarded as illegitimate because he was the child of an unidentified concubine. In two attempts, Charles tried to make him his heir, but he failed.
We won’t get into what happened at the time when King Charles tried to make Bernard the heir in the real world. As AC Valhalla follows some real historical events, you get a chance to kind of change an event, but in the game’s world.
II. What happens if you hand over the boy (Bernard) to King Charles in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

If you pick “You May Have The Boy,” Eivor guarantees that he will keep his word, and the boy will be delivered to the king, the boy’s father.
Prince Bernard happily greets his father and seems content. Toka enjoys music and mead to celebrate.
Toka expresses surprise that Eivor gave the boy to The King later in the story. Odo alerts Eivor about the King’s pursuit of the boy and the queen. As Bernard didn’t even stay a day before returning to the queen.
III. What happens if you don’t hand over the boy (Bernard) to King Charles in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

King Charles is furious if you decide not to return the boy. As King Charles threatens Eivor with the remark, “This is not over, Eivor of England,” Sigfred intervenes and threatens the king. The rest of the cutscene plays out similarly to the last option.
Later on in the story, Toka explains why she is happy that Eivor refrained from giving the boy to King Charles. Later on, when you chat with Sigrid, he expresses disappointment that Eivor broke his commitment.
Odo later tells Eivor that the King is looking for his wife and the child and later completely agrees with Eivor’s decision to refuse to give the kid to the king. Also, Bernard will be a little more trusting of your presence when you meet him later because you didn’t hand him over the first time.
IV. Conclusion:
Both of the choices won’t really change the story. Prince Bernard will end up going to the queen regardless of what choice you make. What difference the choices will make is that it will affect Eivor’s relation with the other side characters like Toka.
While the choices won’t make much difference, not handing over the boy to King Charles is morally correct and you should choose that.
