Apple’s latest ios 15.3 release candidate (RC) is now ready to be installed on your device. Apple has made RC live after two rounds of beta testing with developers and the public, which were released on December 17, 2021, and January 12, 2022. How to install this latest RC?
Before proceeding to the installation procedure, there’s advice which is also stated by Apple that you should prefer installing ios 15.3 RC in your devices that you don’t use regularly as the beta 2 version has not reported any major bug fixes. Moreover, it can cause issues with phone storage clearance. So, if you wish you can also install it after taking proper backup.
You can install ios 15.3 RC, by going to the settings app and downloading the OTA file. If it is not available for sometime it can take some time for the OTA file to reach all the registered developers. The build number of ios 15.3 RC is 19D49.
What’s new in iOSd 15.3? | Features of iOS 15.3
Apple has not mentioned any new features added with this update. It has only stated that there will be bug fixes and security updates. So, this RC will be without any feature updates. That means we will have to wait for more for the long-awaited Universal Control feature. It was announced at WWDC in June 2021. The bug fix will mostly include the Safari 15 vulnerability which was leaking the browsing activity to open websites.
It’s not the case that you cannot provide feedback if you find any bugs. You can easily provide feedback by filling out the feedback form. And, if you do not like the update you can also switch back to the previous version as it is a candidate release. Apple releases the candidate version only when the stable release is very close to being available. You can expect the stable release of iOS 15.3 to come by Tuesday (next week).
