AMD has always been known for providing the greatest experience with its processors. On January 4, a new member of the Ryzen family was introduced at the CES 2022. AMD introduced the Ryzen 6000 series processors, which have a 6nm process technology, Zen3+, RDNA 2 graphics, DDR5, and a variety of other capabilities. We have included the different features of this newly introduced series, as well as a complete list of processors in this series, below. We have also mentioned what this 6nm technology is, when you might expect the series to be released, and how much it will cost you. Happy Reading!!

1. Features of AMD Ryzen 6000 Series

The Ryzen 6000 series is an enhanced and more powerful descendent of the previous Ryzen 5000 series. According to AMD, it will provide 1.3x faster processing and 2x quicker graphics than the 5000 series. The latest series will require less than 30% power for video conferencing. It will have a remarkable battery life of up to 24 hours of movie playback on a single charge. It will also give 11% and 28% higher single-threaded and multi-threaded performance than the previous generation.

This AMD Ryzen series will employ TSMC’s 6 nm process technology, which will enable 1080p AAA gameplay, long battery life, and cutting-edge features. It has a maximum clock speed of 5 GHz. They are also equipped with the Zen 3+ core, which will improve power efficiency by utilizing new power management services that modify speed swiftly, as well as new sleep states. It will also include AMD RDNA2 graphics, which will include capabilities such as an industry-first APU with Hardware Raytracing, a 50% bigger CPU compute engine, and a GPU clock of up to 2.4 GHz.

With USB4, it will support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. According to AMD, it can transfer a 4k movie in 7 seconds at a speed of 40Gbps. PCIe Gen4, DDR5, and HDMI 2.1 compatibility will also be included.

2. Which are the Processors in Ryzen 6000 Series?

The Ryzen 6000 series is made up of 13 high-end processors that are released in two categories. Firstly “H-series” for Gamers and Creators. AMD has divided the H series into three parts. HX (which may be overclocked) with a 45W+ TDP for the quickest gaming laptops, 35W HS models for ‘compact performance,’ and 45W H-series machines. The Ryzen 9 6980HX has been dubbed “the world’s greatest notebook processor.” The U-series is another type designed specifically for thin and powerful mobility. The following is a list of all the processors:

The U series appears to be easier, with models ranging from 15 to 28W. But the sole problem is that three variants come with aged Vega graphics, resulting in drastically lower GPU performance.

3. AMD Radeon RX 6000s and RX 6000M Series

AMD also announced new improvements to the Radeon RX 6000S series and an extension of RX6000M series GPUs for ultra-thin gaming laptops at CES 2022. With the release of these two, the company has taken a giant stride forward in the field of next-generation graphics.

The RX 6000s series will include the RX 6800S, RX 6700S, and RX 6600S lines. The 6000S series graphic cards will be 20% thinner, resulting in increased power efficiency for consumers. It will include revolutionary power-per-watt technologies. AMD further claims that these ultra-thin gaming laptops would weigh around 2 kg and have a 20mm profile. In AMD’s Far cry testing, the RX 6800S and RX 6700S both achieved over 100 frames per second on maximum graphic settings and high settings, respectively. On high settings, the RX 6600S achieved 80+fps.

RX 6850M XT, RX6650M, RX 6650M XT, RX 6500M XT, and RX 6300M XT have also been added to the RX 6000M series. The RX 6850M XT is considered as “The fastest GPU for extreme gaming laptops”. Its clock speed is 7% higher than the original RMX 6850M.

4. Advantages of Using 6nm Process Technology

The main draw of the Ryzen 6000 series is that it has switched from 7nm technology (that was utilized in Ryzen 5000 series) to 6nm. The 6nm technology will be less expensive and deliver 18% greater logical density. The usage of 6nm technology will result in improved graphics, 1080 AAA gameplay, and a longer battery life. It will enable the business to incorporate more features per millimeter of silicon. Furthermore, 6nm has the same design as 7nm, making it easy to port. It will also save money and speed up manufacturing because it uses EUV lithography.

The AMD Ryzen 6000 series was unveiled on January 4, 2022, during AMD’s CES 2022. The 6000 series is solely intended for laptops in order to make them thin and light. There will be no desktop chips because the Ryzen 7000 series is said to support them. According to the business, the Ryzen 7000 is in the works and will be available soon.

The Ryzen 6000 series is slated to launch in February, with certain CPUs available at that time. Others will be released throughout the year, and some will be released as early as 2023. The OEM partners Asus, Dell, and HP will be the first to receive it.

6. What will be the Cost of AMD Ryzen 6000 Series?

This CPUs will directly integrate in the laptops and other hardware components. It will not be available as a single component to buy. We can only buy the whole device consisting of this high-end CPUs and the price will vary depending on different factors.

7. AMD Ryzen 7000 Desktop Processors

In addition to the AMD Ryzen 6000 series, the company has stated that it is working on the Ryzen 7000 series. It will be equipped with the most recent Zen4 architecture CPUs. They will also be compatible with AMD’s all-new AM5 socket. It will compete with Intel’s 12th Gen ‘Alder Lake’ Laptop and Desktop CPUs, which were also released this year. It is expected to arrive in the second half of 2022.

The processors will be constructed using TSMC’s 5nm technology. It will enable AMD to place additional transistors on the CPU. They will assist them in increasing efficiency. It will also have the ability to design LGAs. PCIe Gen5 and DDR5 will also be supported. It will also be compatible with existing AM4 coolers.

I. Launching of 3D v cache

AMD has also launched the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor which will support 3D V-cache. It will provide extreme gaming performance due to its stacked cache structure. They will be accommodated in the single Zen 3 architecture. It will have the advantage that due to its stack structure chip does not have to go outside of VRAM and will be the same for beefier L3 cache. It is expected to launch in Spring 2022.

AMD is expecting to provide a 15% boost performance with its extra level of on-chip memory. It puts it ahead of the Ryzen 9 5900X in terms of gaming performance. According to AMD’s benchmarks, it will be having high raw frame rates than Intel Core i9 12900K.

8. Conclusion

The CES 2022 has provided AMD lovers with many fruitful gifts. Whether its Ryzen 6000 series provides an outstanding gaming performance and refresh rate built on 6nm technology. The future of graphics will rely on Radeon 6000M and 6000S series. The 3v cache technology is also a huge step towards processor performance.
