Following various rumors Riot has finally confirmed the inclusion of the seventh map in Valorant. The new map is named Fracture and goes live with Episode 3 Act 2 in Valorant. Notably, the previous Map Breeze was launched with Episode Two, Act Three of Valorant.
Fracture Map Bomb Sites in Valorant
Unlike Haven, Fracture will be a two-bomb site Map~ Phew. The new map will be shaped like a giant letter “H”. The two bomb sites will be interlinked with the connecting section of the “H” in-between.
A site is set up amidst arid desert and deteriorated facilities, whereas B site comprises overgrown foliage taking over a science facility. To provide ease of mobility middle of the map will have long ziplines connecting routes rapidly.
Moreover, Fracture’s unique H-shape places defenders to start in the middle. Thus, leaving the spawn area to defend the sites on either side. As a result, defenders get pinched from both sides of the map.
Fracture Map Concept in Valorant
The new map will force players to rethink their game fundamentals. We generally get to see defenders in a much passive position across all maps in Valorant. However, All thanks to the Fracture’s unique H-shape defenders get pinched in the middle of the map and they get the option to make the first move.
After the Duality cinematic revealed to players the existence of a twin Earth, our aim was to give players a further peek into the conflict at stake between these two worlds. This new map will also be the one featuring the most amount of “environmental and visual storytelling”. That will help move VALORANT’s mirror verse lore forward. Fracture puts forward a mirrored concept. It features two mirror versions of reality. Thus answering why two versions of the same agent might face off in a match.
Fracture Map Release Date in Valorant
Fracture Map is set to release in Valorant with the patch 3.05 update on Sept 8. The New Map will also mark the beginning of Episode 3 Act 2 in Valorant.
Valorant is a 5v5 character-based FPS shooter title published by Riot Games for Windows, that has been constantly giving neck-to-neck competition to already well-established CS-GO. In October 2019, the game was first launched under the name Project A, and on April 7, 2020, it launched a private beta program with restricted access for players, followed by an official release on June 2, 2020.
