In Blame and Sail quest, you’ll come across a decision that you’d have to make. This quest will start in Ravensthorpe. You’ll need to decide who is right Gudrun or Holger in AC Valhalla. They’ll have a dispute over sailcloth, which you have to resolve. Your decision in this quest won’t matter whether who’s right or wrong, as Sigurd will have his own decision. The main choice comes in when Sigurd makes his decision and you have to choose whether you agree with his decision or not. This decision will impact your game’s ending. 1. Gudrun or Holger – Who is right in the Blame and Sail quest in AC Valhalla?
In the Blame and Sail quest, you’ll have to decide who’s right in the dispute between Gudrun and Holger. They’ll be having a dispute over sailcloth. You start this quest once you enter the longhouse while Sigurd is also in Ravensthorpe. You’ll be given a task by Randvi to resolve the dispute that’s going on between Gudrun and Holger. You’ll need to listen to both sides of the story.
Gudrun will explain how Holger stole the sailcloth and destroyed it and she will ask him to pay her back. On the other hand, Holger says that he mistook the sailcloth to be abandoned goods and thus he took it. Holger also says in his defense that why would he display the sailcloth if he would’ve stolen it. Now that you’ve heard both sides of the story, you need to decide whether who’s right.
While you decide on who’s right, it won’t matter as Sigurd will interrupt in between and give the final decision. He would want to know why wasn’t The Jarl summoned. He will also be furious with Eivor as to why he’s taking his role. Sigurd will declare Holger a thief and he would ask him to pay 30 sailcloths to Gudrun as a punishment. This is where you have to make an important choice. As Sigurd makes the decision, Holger will ask you to do something about Sigurd’s unfair decision. You’ll be given two choices here –
- This judgment is unfair.
- I support Sigurd’s judgment.
I. What Choice Should you Make?
You need to remember, that the decision you make here will affect your game’s ending. You should choose the “I support Sigurd’s judgment” choice here. If you choose this choice, he’ll be happy with you and will bring you closer to the game’s ending. No matter which choice you choose, The Jarl will declare Holger guilty and punish him.
If you choose the “The judgment is unfair” choice, there will be an argument between you and Sigurd during the Holger trial. Choosing this choice will result in a strike with Sigurd and will lead to a different game ending. He won’t return to England with you in the “A Brother’s Keeper” quest of the “In The Hall of The Slain” story arc.
